"Self-Sustaining Village"

What?

EFFEKT is an architectural collaboration based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The company operates in the fields: architecture, planning, urban space, landscape design and research projects. The company was established in 2007.

The ReGen Community is its last project. (this project is now in process).

Danish architectural firm EFFEKT puts a series of greenhouse homes together and creates the ReGen Village. These conjoined greenhouses utilize aquaponic farming and recycle waste. The Village provides its residents with a source of energy and a space to grow high-quality products to feed a large amount of people.

The electricity that is produced comes from sustainable energy.

This village is designed to provide the community with their own source of energy and food, to be fully self-sufficient. The design of the (green) village also helps by lowering the carbon footprint of the community and it decreases the carbon dioxide emission.

The ReGen Community is as an example. If this example succeeds, many green

self-sufficient communities will follow!

Why?

The ReGen Community is build for open-minded people with a free spirit.

These people love being ecological, sustainable, innovative and self-sufficient.

This community is good for the environment. Furthermore is it innovative and independent. And at least brings it people closer to the nature! I think that these aspects make this signal attractive / inspiring. The megatrends of A healthy lifestyle, Back to the beginning (closer to the nature), Sustainability and Independency are making this signal attractive / inspiring. I predict that this community example will succeed and that many green self-sufficient communities will follow al over the world! I think that this will change a lot in the society. Many people will go back to the beginning, the want closer connections with the nature and live a more pure life!
