Buitenmarkt

What?

“Buitenmarkt” is a free Dutch app for IOS and Android of the sunflower oil brand “Reddy.” This app helps you to find the nearest farmer who offers his products directly from the field. In the app you can search by location, product and product location. It offers you the freshest products possible, knowing where your products come from and the associated route to the nearest farmer of your own choice. This app is made for people who love fresh food, knowing where their food comes from, being outside in the nature and using apps on their phone.

For “Reddy” the main reason for making this app was: connecting people with the real nature and boosting the use of natural product (from the field).

This app is available since November 14th, only in the Netherlands.

Why?

This app is made for people who’re active, authentic, conscientious and health conscious. As I told above do these people love fresh food, knowing where their products come from, being outside in the nature and using apps on their phone. I personally think that the fact that this is a whole new concept in the Netherlands makes it attractive, including the combination of fresh healthy food, being active outside and technology. Further help the megatrends of “ The healthy lifestyle / food” and “growing use of apps” by the degree of attraction of “Buitenmarkt.” I see a bright future for the app “Buitenmarkt” in the Netherlands because of all the positive things I said above, it’s innovative, healthy, active and pure. I think it will change a lot, like more food brands coming with their own app. These apps will not be especially focused on finding farmers who sell (other types of) products directly from the field, because that would be overrated. But on the production process for example.

Open world

This app “Buitenmarkt” makes it possible for their users to see where their products normally come from. It brings the consumer closer to mother nature / the beginning of the food production process. The food sector becomes more transparent.
