What?
One of the hardest things in life for a woman is finding the perfect bra!
We all have different sizes and shaped breast, if that isn’t hard enough every bra has an other fit. Finding the right bra is like a mission impossible.
But now there is a solution! The 3D printed bra, this bra is specially shaped for your own breast. 3D-bodyscanning makes this possible. This brilliant idea comes from Lidewij van Twillert who studies at the TU in Delft, the Netherlands.
With this concept of the 3D-printed bra she started her own lingerie brand named:
Mesh Lingerie.
Why?
This special 3D-printed bra is made for women who are perfectionistic and aesthetic.
Further feels she the need to be innovative, perfect, beautiful and special.
This last aspect might be the main reason why the 3D-printed bra is attractive for me and a lot of other woman, feeling special. First you get a personal 3D-bodyscan, than the brand produces the special bra perfectly how you want it and at least you can buy your own personally printed bra in the shop. The whole process and attention makes it happen that you feel special. The Megatrend of 3D printing that belongs to technologization and individualization also makes this concept attractive.
I know for sure that the 3D-printed bra has a bright future. The concept has a lot of
potential , maybe in the future the brand can produce bra’s with lace, different fabrics or even strings.
Shifting identities
A bra has everything to do with a woman’s personality of identity!
Because every woman has different breast and buys a different bra.
You can say that the bra adapts to the woman, the bra shifts from shape (identity).
By the 3-printed bra is this even more, this bra literally adapts to the shape of the woman with using of 3D-bodyscanning. The 3D-printed bra shifts even more from shape / identity!
