What?

The American magazine Glamour chooses each year “A woman of the year”.

This is a woman who symbolizes femininity and also has done great thing for de humanity! The magazine does this to celebrate and recall people of the power of the woman! The entire editorial staff of the glamour chooses this special woman.

This same editorial staff is responsible for the whole event and proclamation, this yearly event is a big thing in Hollywood! The winner of the last event at 9 November 2015 was Caitlyn Jenner. “But who is she?” And “What has she done to win the title?”

Caitlyn Jenner better known as Bruce Jenner is an Olympic athlete, but became famous for a whole other reason. He is a part of the world wide famous Kardashian family. Bruce Jenner was married with Kris Kardashian and the father of Kendall en Kylie Jenner.

He always felt there was something wrong with him and has always known he would rather be a woman. All the fame didn’t made this easier.. But in 2015 Bruce decided to become themselves: Caitlyn Jenner. He literally changed (shifted) his identity, but his personally remained the same. This was world wide shocking news and got a lot of attention all over the world! All of a sudden everything people were talking about was transgenders! Transgenders became hot and accepted. It got world wide attention to the day of today. 2015 became the year of the transgender! For al off this Caitlyn Jenner got the title of Woman of the year!

Why?

A Transgender is someone who is born in the wrong body.

This people don’t have certain properties in common. The only thing that they share is the fact that they have a woman’s or man’s mentality but are born in the opposite body.

They all feel the need to just be their selves, look like the opposite sex and most important be accepted by their self and others. Of course I knew what a transgender was, but honestly I never really thought about it. This suddenly changed when the world wide famous Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner! I really think this is a shame. But fact is: only when someone famous says or does something it gets the attention it deserves . This can be explained by an other fact: these days we (the youth) have only attention for two thing, ourselves or the one we want to be which includes famous people. This enormous growing attention for ourselves and famous people + the growing attention for finding (our own) identity are the two megatrends that made transgenders HOT! The whole transgender hype attracts us because it is directly connected with something famous, a person like Caitlyn or a campaign of a famous brand. And of course we love (to say) being socially involved. The phenomenon transgender has a bright future. This is already proven: after the come out of Caitlyn every brand wanted her or an other transgender in their campaign. I think that the influence of the transgender in fashion but especially in other areas will grow enormous!
