Me and my Mini-me

What?

In the 21 century we are more obsessed with appearance than ever!

And not only with or own appearance but also with the appearance of our kids.

Especially under the fashion moms. This phenomenon was launched by the world wide famous actress Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri, like 5 years ago in Hollywood.

But how do you create a Mini-me? You need a fashionable mother who loves to express her passion for fashion on her young daughter. The number of this kind of mothers are growing and growing. Big fashion brands as Adidas, Doctor Martens, Burberry see this, and than the big retail brands as Zara are following. They both produce identical

outfits for the mother and the child, and clothes that are matching. As I told is this phenomenon very popular by fashionable moms, but especially by fashionable moms who are rich, famous or a blogger. It’s all about see and being seen.

Why?

A Mini-me is created by people who are often very boastful, aesthetic and love the spotlight! They create their own Mini-me because the feel the need to express their own fashion skills, get attention and make their own kid cool/ beautiful! I like this phenomenon because I personally love FASHION and cute little KIDS. For me is this a golden combination! I also love to express my own fashion style and skill on others, because it makes me feel like they are a piece of me for a while. This last argument, seeing something of your own personally (literally) in your own kid + the high cute factor makes the concept Mini-me so popular! The megatrend of blogging which is associated with the growing need of the human to get more and more attention.

And corresponding megatrend of wanting to know everything about everyone makes the Mini-me attractive! I think that this Mini-me trend only grows and grows. Now big fashion retail brands like ZARA also admit with the growing Mini-me trend, becomes it more accessible and is the future for the Mini-me brighter than ever!

Shifting identity’s

A young child hasn’t yet an own personality or identity, most often is their personality / identity given by the parents. In this case: the fashionable mother, who gives their child the identity of a little fashionista! So before the child gets the change to chose (shift) its own identity, is this already done by the mother. Most often do others also create the personality, identity and style of the fashionable mom. This is done by the world we live in now! This world is the reason that so many people have more identities or an identity crisis. (Shifting identity’s)
