What?

6 September, The Netherlands. Chaila Marvici the collar specialist of hair care label Redken was at home, looking at a painting on the wall. This painting was an image printed on paper, this gave her the idea for a new hair painting technique.

It was the fact that the image was printed on paper what her inspired !

She always loved experimenting with different hair painting techniques, and because of the painting at her home she found out one by herself!

One with plexiglass.

What it was about? You paint your hair with the paint you normally use, only now you don’t use a brush but plexiglass.

How do you do it? You paint circles in different collars next to each other on the plexiglass, then you lay a piece of hair over it and Press the hair in the paint with a large flat scraper. With this technique you get the most natural looking

light-reflecting shine, its similar to the effect of Balayage.

Why?

People who want their hair paint with plexiglass are Innovative, expirimenterend, creative, confident and have guts!

And of course they want to try something new for a nice appearance, to be progressive and to stand out!

I have to be honest, I never ever painted my hair.

But if I have to paint it, for sure I would paint it with plexiglass!

Why? Because not having the same hair as everybody else, feeling beautifull, looking like a celebrity as example; Kylie Jenner and being into a trend before anyone else does.

I think that I’m talking for a lot of young beautiful smart fashion interested innovative high heel walked woman, who love make-up and hair! Of course the “dip-dye” trend and the “granny hair” trend have helped making this interesting for me!

And not to forget Kylie Jenner with her 100 different hairstyles.

I like the “dip-dye” more, because of the fact that you don’t have to paint your whole hair. But this one and the “granny hair” definitely grabs my attention, what I never had before by hair painting. Also because of those two this article of hair painting catches my eyes, and I might be considering of painting my hair with plexiglass.

Of course has the hair painting with plexiglass a greate future!

I think that it grows slowly in the beginning and then all of a sudden it explodes! People will love the technique and treatement, because of this’s so different then painting with a brush.

Potential? Yes, because this is the first time ever that it’s not all about the result but about the way to the result (technique).

I honestly think that this will change certain things in the hairdressing world. As example; there will follow many other hair painting techniques with crazy tools, like hair painting with painted rollers that you’ve to roll into your hair. Furthermore I think that all these ideas will become DIY’s for at home, and that this market also will exploit!
